WHO WE ARE
John C. Carter & Co., Landscape Architects have diverse experience in the field of Landscape Architecture including expertise in Site Analysis and Master Planning, Landscape Design, Construction Management and Environmental Permitting.
Our work includes a wide range of projects involving residential landscape designs, major residential land subdivisions, commercial site development, and coastal buffer management in Rhode Island, Connecticut and Massachusetts.
We routinely work with other consultants including attorneys, engineers, architects, surveyors and biologists. Our expertise also includes public presentations and expert testimony before zoning, planning and other regulatory boards.

The principal of John C. Carter & Company, Landscape Architects, has 25 years experience in the field of Landscape Architecture.
John holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Rhode Island. He is a licensed Landscape Architect in Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Massachusetts, a Certified Soil and Water Conservation Society Professional, Soil Erosion and Sediment Control Specialist, a Rhode Island licensed arborist and a Rhode Island Certified Horticulturalist.
John is the chairman of the Board of Examiners of Landscape Architects and is an active member of the Rhode Island Board of Design Professionals, and C.L.A.R.B. He has also been an Adjunct Professor in the Landscape Architecture Department at the University of Rhode Island.
